Silence used to be more prevalent in our lives. We had time to contemplate, to find solitude or tranquility, or just to escape. These days, you have to plan your escape...

No dogs barking. No lawnmowers. No revving engines. No sirens or car alarms. No planes. No construction work. No delivery lorries. Just pure, blissful silence. My ears could barely believe what they weren’t hearing when I opened the door, stepped into the garden and listened...

Does the world have to be so loud?

Why?

The population reached 8 billion on November 15, 2022, after taking only 12 years to grow from 7 billion. (billion = miljard)

Wednesday Activities - Information about Sweden - sid 68 - hörövning Summer - Australia ... Tuesday Idag ska ni arbeta med en insändare till en tidning. Den är skriven av en tjej som heter Amanda och handlar om huruvida man bör resa till USA som turist eller inte. Den tar upp en del fördomar och generaliseringar. Ni bör därför känna till vad de orden innebär:  prejudice - fördomar ( E n förutfattad, ofta negativ, åsikt eller omdöme om en person eller grupp som inte grundas på egna erfarenheter eller fakta ) generalise - generalisera ( Man struntar ofta i undantag och drar alla över en kam ) Amanda får även svar på sin insändare av Nadine. Ni lyssnar även på detta.  1. Ni börjar med att läsa igenom de nya orden som dyker upp i texten på sid 144 - 145. Läs igenom och se vad de betyder på svenska.  2. Sedan lyssnar ni på texten HÄR .
